Procserve Comes to Civil Service Live with Collaborative Procurement, Efficiency Savings and SME Spend High on the Agenda
4 July 2012, LONDON, UK - Delivering significant cost and efficiency savings across the public sector, the company behind the Government eMarketplace exhibits at CSL for first time at Stand 141.
Procserve, a leader in enabling secure transactions online, is exhibiting at Civil Service Live to help educate on best practice collaborative procurement within the public sector and ensuring better access to spend for small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs.)
Established in 2006 to develop and run the Government eMarketplace, Procserve’s secure networks are today used by over 25,000 public and private sector organisations to buy, sell and share information within online communities. More than three quarters of central government departments and organisations that manage 80% of public sector spend in Wales use Procserve’s network. The secure nature of its technology and proven ability to assist the redistribution of back office resources to frontline services is benefitting all police forces in England and Wales, and hundreds of organisations from local government, NHS and Education.
“Civil Service Live is a fantastic event and its focus on promoting and sharing best practice across the public sector means it is exactly where Procserve should be. Our technology has put the UK at the forefront of ecommerce in this area, and we are enabling organisations that have already had to make significant cuts to still realise significant cost and time savings through collaborative procurement,” commented Nigel Clifford, CEO of ProcServe.
Procserve in action
When the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) agreed a new eBusiness strategy that would free up financial resources for frontline policing, the Police engaged with Procserve to help make their multi-billion procurement quicker, cheaper and more efficient.
At the heart of the strategy was the development of the National Police Procurement Hub (NPPH), an eMarketplace created by ProcServe that provides 43 forces in England and Wales with the ability to select and purchase a broad range of approved goods and services online.
The NPPH has been created to deliver transformational change in police procurement. Providing secure* access to a central catalogue alongside the means to purchase and pay for all goods and services online, ProcServe’s technology is improving compliance, reducing the time and cost associated with paper-based transactions and enabling forces to harness the collective buying power of the police service.
Civil Service Live
Now in its fifth year, Civil Service Live is established as the largest gathering of civil servants in the country. It brings together people from government departments, agencies and industry under one roof to learn, share, innovate and build relationships to address the challenges of delivering better public services for less. The event is the recognised platform for civil servants to learn from and discuss innovative new ideas, share best practice and build relationships.
