Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust
Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust was created in October 2007 by merging St. Mary's NHS Trust and Hammersmith Hospitals NHS Trust. Now the largest Trust in the country, they have come together to establish the UK's first academic health science centre.
Imperial was one of the first adopters of Zanzibar and they completed their first live transaction through Zanzibar in June 2006. Zanzibar, delivered by ProcServe, was selected for its ability to improve management information, reduce administrative burden time and placing transactions, increase visibility of contracts with suppliers and the associated agreed prices and remove invoice discrepancies.

The fact that the transaction piece is taken care of and almost becomes invisible means that you're talking to your customers about different things -- you're talking about adding value to the relationship. And from an efficiency point of view you, obviously, if you've got accurate orders you've got accurate invoices and both parties want that. But also from a contractual point of view you're seeing more contractual compliance. The Trust is buying on contract and therefore realising the benefits that have been negotiated before the contract was put in place.
