City and County of Swansea
The City and County of Swansea currently use the xchangewales eTrading Hub, provided by ProcServe as part of the xchangewales programme. The integration of their system to ProcServe was supported by Oracle Consulting who had previously worked with ProcServe. Capgemini (Swansea's ICT partner) was responsible for the development of the Oracle CEMLIs, testing, overall configuration of our Oracle eBusiness Suite / iProcurement system (11.5.10) and the installation of network security equipment.
These changes included setting-up PunchOut to the xchangewales Hub, posting of electronic PO's and receiving eInvoices via the hub into their XML gateway. It also included the ability to send category codes (UNSPSC Codes), UoM mappings and contract references on purchase orders.
The development work required for the integration was completed in a few months, thus allowing the Council plenty of time for testing and deployment. Throughout the project, ProcServe worked closely with the Council to ensure a timely delivery.
The Council went live with xchangewales eTrading Hub in June 2010 with a view to rolling out users and suppliers onto the system in a controlled manner. Throughout the process, the ProcServe project team were supportive and whilst the integration between our Oracle system and ProcServe was on occasion challenging, the project was relatively straight forward and smooth.
