Procurement Leaders
Congratulations to ProcServe's Veera Johnson
Just a short note to pass on our congratulations to Veera Johnson, the charismatic chief executive of ProcServe, an electronic market place and trading platform company. ProcServe has partnered with the UK government to develop Zanzibar - a secure e-procurement system which the government hopes will achieve huge (think billions of pounds) of savings.
Johnson, has been named Asian Business Woman of the Year at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards, held at the London Park Lane Hilton.
Johnson, who I interviewed late last year, is a humble lady but the strides she has made this year in collaborating and winning the favour of the UK Treasury is impressive stuff.
As she says:
"All of this is great news for everyone at ProcServe, though I won't forget that at heart I'm just a girl from Preston!"
Teign school and the primary schools in our learning community are very excited about being a pathfinder for OPEN and supporting this DCSF initiative. We expect to improve our procurement process with all our suppliers through this innovative eProcurement initiative. OPEN will also help us and other schools across the country to achieve better value, by widening choice and allowing for more informed purchasing decisions. We are looking forward to using OPEN as a platform to support collaboration with other schools in Devon and organisations across the wider UK public sector.
