Veera Johnson - founder and CEO of ProcServe - is named “Asian Business Woman of the Year”
21st May 2009, LONDON, UK - At an awards ceremony held at London’s Park Lane Hilton last night, Veera Johnson was named as Business Woman of the Year at the Asian Women of Achievement Awards. Veera is CEO of ProcServe, the UK’s leading provider of procurement and electronic trading solutions.
Veera Johnson said: “I am humbled that amongst such a strong group of my peers the panel, led by James Caan, chose to honour me with this accolade. This award follows on from the recent public acknowledgement of Zanzibar, the collaborative e-procurement shared service delivered on behalf of Her Majesty’s Treasury. Martin Jay who led the collaborative procurement workstream of the Treasury’s Operational Efficiency Review, pin-pointed Zanzibar as key to delivering multi-billion pound savings for the UK Government. All of this is great news for everyone at ProcServe, though I won’t forget that at heart I’m just a girl from Preston!”
ProcServe was spun out of PA Consulting Group in 2006, as part of that firm’s successful venture programme, and Jon Moynihan, Chairman of PA Consulting and Chairman of ProcServe, said: “All of us at PA and ProcServe are delighted for Veera to have this great recognition from the Asian business community through this award. Here at PA it was her ability, creativity, passion and dedication to whatever task she was given that marked her out for professional success. The leadership she has shown in building ProcServe to a multi-million pound business delivering year on year growth even in these difficult times has made the company a showcase to her qualities”
