21st SEPTEMBER 2009, LONDON, UK - ProcServe, a leading provider of collaborative procurement and electronic trading solutions and a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork, today announced that the ProcServe Trading Network can now not only support OracleŽ Transparent PunchOut for catalogue access, but also has adapters for OracleŽ platforms to ease integration for their private and public sector customers. The new functionality includes an integration facility that has been connected to the Government Secure Internet* (GSi) and the core solution to enhance the security of ProcServe's electronic marketplaces, which have already been accredited to Government Security Level 2, a security level that no other eMarketplace and P2P service provider has achieved in the UK.

These enhancements will significantly reduce the costs and effort required by Oracle ERP customers to integrate with the ProcServe Trading Network including the Government marketplaces - Zanzibar, OPEN and xchangewales eTrading. Buying organisations will gain the benefits of easier access to collaborative content and an ever expanding supplier base on the platform as a whole.

Veera Johnson, CEO of ProcServe, said; "ProcServe is a member of the Oracle PartnerNetwork and we are dedicated to making the integration between the ProcServe Trading Network and the Oracle iProcurement environment as seamless as possible. The out of the box message integration is part of this and there are many other features such as Transparent PunchOut which are key. The Transparent PunchOut allows end users to search the ProcServe Marketplace from within their Oracle environment in exactly the same way as they search internal catalogues instead of doing an actual PunchOut to the ProcServe Marketplace. This gives customers a consistent user experience for all types of catalogues in the iProcurement environment while allowing them to enjoy the benefits of externally hosted catalogues with better and more up to-date content managed by the suppliers."

Jesper Lynge Petersen, Head of IT Development at ProcServe, stated; "The key benefit to our Oracle customers is that there is no requirement on their part to develop specific customisations to integrate with the ProcServe Trading Network. This results in reduced implementation times and lower integration costs, in addition to other benefits in the form of certainty that the integration is compatible with future releases and expansions of the Oracle Finance application stack, as the integration is based on standard Oracle features."

Notes to Editors

  • The Government Secure Intranet (GSi) is the strategic back office network infrastructure that allows the many different government and public service organisations in the UK to communicate securely with each other and certain approved key suppliers, and for the UK to function as a joined up modern state within the European Union.
  • The GSi allows its customers to exchange and publish information in a secure environment separated from the public Internet, thus protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of that information.
  • There are security policy rules attached to the GSI and the Hub operating inside the GSi negates the need for this so Zanzibar can interact with the client systems more freely, for example, in the receiving of invoices where the client system is also 'passive'. This does away with the need for customisation of the client system to start using Zanzibar.
