ProcServe Mentioned in Leading Industry Analyst Firm’s Research on Public Sector Procurement
21st July 2010, LONDON, UK - ProcServe, leading provider of electronic procurement and collaboration solutions, today announced it has been mentioned in the Gartner, Inc. research report entitled "Strategies for Public-Sector Investment in Procurement Applications". The report, authored by Gartner Research Director, Deborah R Wilson, focuses on the software solutions that enable public sector organisations to transform their procurement processes and the success factors to be considered when utilising such solutions.
According to the Gartner research note, "procurement and sourcing applications can significantly impact the ability of public-sector organisations to manage costs, do more with less, spur economic development and reduce corruption." Hence, looking at procurement solutions has never been more well-timed for government. The report also notes that "procurement technology programs that mandate usage are significantly more likely to meet expectations than those that make participation voluntary."
ProcServe has been providing award winning eMarketplace and eProcurement solutions to the UK public sector for several years, working closely with Cabinet Office and HM Treasury, helping to drive efficiencies and savings from leveraging eProcurement solutions. Zanzibar, the UK Government's electronic marketplace and eInvoicing Service, delivered on behalf of the Office of Government Commerce is vital to helping organisations improve their procurement efficiency, enable procurement collaboration and provide immediate access to local, regional and pan government collaborative deals.
Zanzibar is a fully secure and hosted service that is already operational across England and Wales. It includes well over 10,500 connected suppliers, and 1,000 electronic catalogues including all of the government's collaborative agreements. This is growing on a daily basis. The range of users, both buyers and suppliers continues to grow and includes schools, NHS, and housing associations to nationwide procurement transformation programmes. Zanzibar is available to any public or part publicly funded organisation through a contract managed by the Office of Government Commerce.
Veera Johnson, CEO of ProcServe, said "We are delighted to have been named as a COTS vendor in this research note. We have seen first hand how technology opens the door to procurement transformation for public sector organisations leading to reduced operating costs, lower prices and improved supplier management. Zanzibar is the leading light in this arena and is already helping to transform procurement policies and processes across the UK."
