Prior to that he led Symbian to become the world's leading smartphone operating system, eventually selling and integrating the company into Nokia in 2008. Before Symbian Clifford grew and then sold Tertio Telecoms Ltd, a privately owned global telecoms software company, to Evolving Systems in 2004.
Having previously worked as CEO of a major NHS Trust in Scotland, Clifford also brings extensive public sector experience to the position. This experience was built upon a strong foundation of procurement, strategy and operational expertise gained through various roles at BT and Cable & Wireless.

Following graduation from University, where David obtained a BCom Accountancy degree (Cum Laude), he went on to complete an Honours qualification in four subjects, namely Accountancy, Audit, Management Accountancy and Tax.
